Dr. Uche Iloka is a Senior Lecturer in Law and Research Degrees Coordinator at the School of Law and Social Sciences, Robert Gordon University (RGU), Scotland, and the co-director of the research centre – Centre for Legal Rights, Social Justice and Inclusion (CLARION). He leads the PhD, Professional Doctorate, and MRes programmes, overseeing doctoral supervision, research development, and postgraduate strategy. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and serves on several academic boards, contributing to institutional priorities in research enhancement, curriculum design, and student engagement. He previously held a five-year appointment as Visiting Professor at ESC Clermont Business School in Clermont-Ferrand, France.Dr Iloka holds a PhD in Public International Law and Global Governance from RGU, alongside qualifications in International Commercial Law, Arbitration, and Negotiation. Public Leadership Credential from institutions including the Hague Academy of International Law and Universität Zu Köln. He also completed the Public Leadership Diploma at Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He is dual-qualified as a Solicitor of England & Wales and a Barrister & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, with prior legal practice experience at Templars (Nigeria) and Alfred James & Co Solicitors (London), complemented by professional experience in financial services at HSBC Bank Plc.

His research interests lie in Public International Law, Global Governance, Charity Law, and International Business Law. His scholarship has been published in Scots Law Times, and he has contributed to international academic discourse through invited presentations at major forums, including the United Nations Academic Council Annual Meetings (Tokyo, 2024; Nairobi, 2025), the Global Corporate Governance Conference (Lisbon, 2025), and multiple RGU-led Global Governance Conferences. In 2025, he was appointed to the Academic Advisory Board of the Global Corporate Governance Institute.

At RGU, Dr Iloka has pioneered several impactful academic initiatives. He developed Scotland’s first Charity Law module within a Law School, and the Global Governance module, which integrates international study visits to institutions such as the United Nations, World Trade Organisation, European Parliament, International Monetary Fund, and International Court of Justice. He founded the Postgraduate Student Leadership Council and the Buddy-Up Scheme, which significantly improved student satisfaction. He launched the Supervisors’ Knowledge Exchange Hub, fostering capacity-building and interdisciplinary supervisory collaboration. These contributions were instrumental in achieving a 100% doctoral student satisfaction score in the 2024 iPRES survey.

His leadership extends beyond academia. He is the Founding Partner of Greydern Associates, a consultancy providing governance and legal advisory services to charities and social enterprises.
