Alynna J. Lyon is a Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at the University of New Hampshire, United States. Her research interests include the United Nations, multilateralism, foreign policy, and moral authority at the global level. She is the author of US Politics and the United Nations (Lynne Rienner, 2016), co-author of The United Nations in the 21st Century (Routledge, 2022), co-author of The United Nations: 75 Years of Promoting Peace, Human Rights and Development (2020), and co-editor of three books, Pope Francis Reconsidered (forthcoming, Palgrave), Pope Francis as a Global Actor: Where Politics and Theology Meet (Palgrave, 2018) and Religion and Politics in a Global Society (Lexington, 2013). She is the former chair of the International Organization section of the International Studies Association (2016-2018) and former co-Editor-in-Chief of the ACUNS journal Global Governance (2018-2024). She currently serves as a Faculty Fellow for the New Hampshire Humanities Collaborative and faculty advisor for the UNH Model UN program.
