Inken von Borzyskowski is Professor of International Relations at Oxford University at the Department of Politics and International Relations, and a Fellow at St Catherine’s College. Before joining Oxford, she was Associate Professor of Political Science and Co-Director of the International Public Policy MSc Program at University College London (UCL), United Kingdom. She previously served as Assistant Professor at Florida State University (USA), Post-doctoral Fellow at Free University Berlin (Germany), and Pre-doctoral Fellow at the European University Institute (Italy). She earned a Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an M.A. from Free University Berlin. She has worked at the Social Science Research Center (Berlin), and served as a fellow at the International Foundation for Electoral Systems in Washington, D.C. She has won research awards from the U.S. Institute of Peace, the American Political Science Association, the International Studies Association, and the European Consortium for Political Research. Her work has been supported by the British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship, the Philip Leverhulme Prize, the U.S. Institute of Peace, the World Bank, and the Swedish government’s Folke Bernadotte Academy. Prof. von Borzyskowski is the author of The Credibility Challenge: How Democracy Aid Influences Election Violence (Cornell University Press, 2019). Her second book, Exit from International Organizations, is under contract with Cambridge University Press. Her research has also appeared in International Studies Quarterly, British Journal of Political Science, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Journal of Peace Research, Review of International Organizations. She has served as the Co-Director of the ACUNS-UN 2022 Workshop in London.
