Dr. Aigul Kulnazarova joined Tama University (Japan) in 2008 as a Professor of International Relations and International Law at the School of Global Studies. Prior to this appointment, she served as Dean of the Law School at Kazakh-American University and held visiting professorships at MGIMO University and RUDN University in Moscow. She was also honored as a Japan Foundation’s Invited Fellow at Nagoya University Graduate School of Law and as a Visiting Senior Researcher at Aalborg University in Denmark. Her research intersects global peace and security studies, human rights, international organizations and global governance. She has authored and edited numerous publications, including UNESCO Without Borders: Educational Campaigns for International Understanding (2017) and the Palgrave Handbook of Global Approaches to Peace, 2nd edition (forthcoming). Currently, she serves as Editor of Global Governance: A Review of Multilateralism and International Organizations, and the Routledge Book Series on International Relations in Southeast Asia. She holds a PhD in International Relations and Foreign Policy, MPhil in Political History and Theory, and MA in History and State Law.
