un-canadaAfter years of criticizing the UN by the Government of Canada, a group of 17 United Nations and foreign policy experts decided to respond by holding media conferences across Canada on September 23, 2013 to understand what Canada should be saying and doing to help regain its place as a leader at the UN.

At the same time, the UN & Canada Project was created and launched a booklet of essays to help Canadians understand the significant impact international institutions have on the world and to encourage our government to reposition Canada in international affairs.

“The United Nations and Canada: What Canada has done and should be doing at the United Nations” is a volume of short articles by leading Canadian international affairs experts published this September, at the time of the opening of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly.
