The Program

The Global South Unit for Mediation (GSUM), located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is accepting applications for its Fellows Program. We are seeking three (3) dynamic and engaged scholars and practitioners, Brazilian nationals or foreigners, interested in researching, teaching, and debating issues related to Mediation and Conflict Resolution.

The GSUM’s Fellows Program will cover the costs of the airfare to/from Rio de Janeiro, and will pay a stipend of R$7.500,00 (Brazilian Reais) per month to each of the three selected Visiting Fellows. The Fellows Program will have the duration of two (2) months, starting on July 15th, 2014, and ending on September 15th, 2014.

The closing date for applications is 05th of March 2014.

The Global South Unit for Mediation (GSUM) is a learning, research and training platform, intending to promote the diffusion of knowledge and expertise on international mediation among scholars, diplomats, governmental officials and non-governmental actors from the Global South. The GSUM is the result of a partnership between the Institute of International Relations of PUC-Rio (IRI/PUC-Rio), the BRICS Policy Center, and the Royal Embassy of Norway in Brazil.
