Peace Operations Training Institute, Background

The Peace Operations Training Institute (POTI) is an institutional member of ACUNS, offering globally accessible and affordable distance-learning courses on peace support, humanitarian relief, and security operations. Dr. Harvey Langholtz has been the Executive Director of POTI since 1993, and is responsible for the development and distribution of these courses.

Harvey Langholtz, Background

Dr. Langholtz is Professor of Psychology, in the department of Psychology the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia (2005-present). He earned his Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology in 1991, from the University of Oklahoma. He holds a M.S. in Management (1979) from The United States Navy Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA and earned a M.A. in Psychology (1976) from the New School for Social Research, New York.  From 1991-93 he served as Political Officer and member of the United States Delegation to the United Nations, New York. He is the author or editor of numerous books, articles and chapters examining peacekeeping and conflict resolution, including The Psychology of Diplomacy (2004, Praeger) and The Psychology of Peacekeeping (1998, Praeger).
