This role manages the online presence of ACUNS via its website and social media channels, and plays a key role in supporting the annual programme of events around the world.
  • The Secretariat Manager will oversee the operation of the Secretariat, working closely with the Executive Director to meet the needs of the ACUNS community and to deliver the strategy of its Board. This role will provide professional operational leadership and co-ordination of ACUNS’ programmes, assist in managing strategic relationships within the international community and members, and manage the ACUNS Secretariat office.

Summary
Secretariat Administrator
Coventry University is hosting the ACUNS Secretariat for 5 years from July 2018, and the Secretariat will be based in the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations. The Administrator will support the day to day operation of the Secretariat to meet the needs of the ACUNS community and to promote ACUNS and its activities internationally. This role manages the online presence of ACUNS via its website and social media channels, and plays a key role in supporting the annual programme of events around the world.

You will have experience in managing a website and developing content, have used social media as part of a marketing campaign, and have a track record in event planning and project management. With a strong motivation and interest in engaging with the subject matter and focus of ACUNS, you will be able to generate high quality written content for dissemination and marketing for ACUNS on relevant topics. With a customer-focused approach and aptitude, you will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to handle enquiries and represent ACUNS to an external audience.

Some international travel may be required in order to fulfil the duties of this role.

Secretariat Manager

You should have experience of working with non-government organisations, membership organisations or in a higher education setting, and of managing a small team or professional support function. With a proven track record of operational leadership, you will have strong organisation and communication skills and be able to develop strategies and ensure successful implementation.

Effective relationship management skills and partnership working experience are essential, as is an awareness of and interest in developing relevant knowledge about the United Nations and international organisations in order to engage effectively with academics and practitioners about ACUNS.

Some international travel will be required in order to fulfil the duties of this role.
