You are cordially invited to the CSW 60 Side-Event “Human Trafficking as a Form of Violence Against Girls and Women” which will focus on the increasing global problem of women and girls trafficking.

The UN Inter-Agency Coordination Group against Trafficking in Persons states that “trafficking of girls” is one of the 12 critical areas underscored in the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. Human Trafficking is a crime and violation of human rights; moreover, it is a manifestation of persistent gender inequality and the subordinate status of women globally.

The panel aims to provide a platform for experts to share various perspectives on how to prevent and combat human trafficking. Speakers will also present recent research and data on good practices for preventing human trafficking, especially girls, and women.
