The United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) are pleased to extend an invitation to the eighth edition of the Geneva Lecture Series. 

The eighth edition will be delivered by Martti Ahtisaari, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and former President of Finland, and José Ramos-Horta, Nober Peace Prize Laureate, Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Guinea-Bissau and former President of Timor-Leste, on the topic “Complexities of peacemaking: the untold story“, and will take place on Wednesday, 13 November 2013 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. in the Human Rights and Alliance of Civilizations Room (Room XX) at the Palais des Nations.  Following the lecture, the public will be invited to participate in an open debate with the speakers. Simultaneous interpretation in English and French will be provided. 

Registration to participate in this event is compulsory for all, including those already in possession of an access badge for the Palais des Nations. We invite you to register online at by 8 November 2013 at the latest. As the number of seats is limited, it is possible that registration will have to close prior to the indicated date.
