About Manuel Fröhlich

Manuel Fröhlich is Professor of International Organizations and Globalization at Friedrich-Schiller-University, Jena (Germany). He also serves as a board member of the German United Nations Association and its Research Council. He is co-editor of the German Journal of Political Science (Zeitschrift für Politikwissenschaft) as well as the book series The United Nations and Global Change (Nomos). Manuel Fröhlich has published several books and articles i.a. on the United Nations, Global Governance, the transformation of peace operations and sovereignty as well as the political philosophy of international relations and world organization – topics that have been with him since his dissertation on the Political Ethics of UN Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld (Routledge). He currently heads a research project on the work of Special Representatives of the UN Secretary-General (SRSGs) that includes the establishment of a comprehensive database on SRSG assignments since the foundation of the UN. For a complete list of publications and more information see www.iog.uni-jena.de
