This month, General Ronald Mangum (ret.) joins co-host Alistair Edgar to discuss the opportunities and challenges in leading a varied and non-linear career – from founding a successful US law practice, to senior operational military command, to foreign government adviser, and most recently to academia. What are the pedagogical challenges of adapting teaching methods to the digital environment? What are the unique adaptations needed to accommodate a global student body? How have his varied career experiences helped to inform his subsequent work, including his teaching?
Mangum shares reflections on his experiences as the Commanding General of United States Army Special Operations Command Korea; as manager of the Georgia Defense Reform Program in Tbilisi, Georgia; and as a Country Director for the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative in Armenia, as well as his current role with an EU-funded cross-border tourist project that focuses on Armenia, Georgia, Turkey and Greece.
