The Friends of ACUNS is an endowment fund that has been established to help ensure the financial future of the Academic Council on the United Nations System and the continuation of its programs. Friends of ACUNS offers a biannual book award. The award goes to the author(s) or editor(s) of the best book that focuses on some aspect of the United Nations and/or the United Nations System.
Friends of ACUNS is directed by a Board of Officers:

Richard Ponzio: Member at Large
Grants will be made by the Friends of ACUNS Board upon the recommendation of the Board of Directors of ACUNS.
Friends of ACUNS is incorporated under New York State and federal law as a not-for-profit public charity with 501(c)(3) status. Contributions are tax deductible for US citizens; non-US citizens should consult their specific national tax laws and regulations.
Contributions to the Friends of ACUNS can be made in several ways:
- A donation to the Friends of ACUNS
- A donation to the Friends of ACUNS annual book award fund
- A pledge
- A gift in the memory
- A gift of designated stock, for which the full value at the time of the gift can be taken as a tax deduction*
- Designating royalties and / or fees from publications
- A bequest as a testamentary donation
