Organization in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of UNITED NATIONSIn the year 2004 President Gebhard Fidler is founding member of the Corporate Social Responsibility CSR Experts Group in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. Since 2004 he is member of this CSR Experts Group in Austria.
Mr Fidler and his NGO VFV are founding member of the Vienna NGO Committee on Sustainable Development at UN.
Additonally Mr. Fidler is islam expert in the European Standards Institute CEN in Brussel and since 2007 in the Austrian Standards Institute (ASI). The fields are “Islam and economic” (Halal, Islamic Finance, Islamic Banking together with European Union Law).
Mr. Fidler and his NGO VFV is working since 2006 in the areas “Islam and terrorism”.
Mr Fidler study Law, Economic and Environmental Engineering at the University Vienna.
The „Verein zur Förderung der Völkerverständigung” – „Society for the Advancement of Global Understanding” is a non-governmental peace organization in consultative status with UN ECOSOC since summer 2010, partner organization of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, participate and have access rights in the Austrian Parliament and European Union Parliament and Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). The activities are national and global. The organization holds high level experts for economy, ecology, society/social issues, crime prevention and is working in this fields.
The organization participate 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, in 112 various UN conferences, UN symposia, UN meetings and gave reports, statements, comments and expertises to several themes and fields alone or together with UN committees. Additionally in 14 various EU conferences, EU symposia, EU meetings and 5 OSCE conferences. We working with governments and civil society to build on the momentum generated by the three UN Millennium Development Goals 3, 7, 8 and carry on with an ambitious post-2015 development agenda.

Since 2010 we are member of the Vienna NGO Committee on Ageing at UN, Vienna NGO Committee on the Status of Women at UN, Vienna NGO Committee on Peace at UN, Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs at UN, Vienna NGO Committee on Sustainable Development at UN and participate in the „Vienna Alliance of NGOs on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice” at UNODC and „Academic Council on the United Nations System” (ACUNS). Since 2010 we work for seven UN committees at reports, statements, comments and expertises on the subjects of ageing, peace, equality and empower for women, crime prevention and criminal justice, drugs, sustainable development, etc.
Our organization promote three Millenium development goals (MDGs): „promote gender equality and empower woman” (GOAL 3), „ensure environmental sustainability” (GOAL 7), „develop a global partnership for development” (GOAL 8). To support the GOAL 7 and GOAL 8, since 2010, we are founding member of the Vienna NGO Committee on Sustainable Development at UN. Mr. Roland Leithenmayr (the main representative of our organization) is Deputy Secretary in the Vienna NGO Committee on Sustainable Development. To support GOAL 3, since 2010, we are member of the Vienna NGO Committee on the Status of Women at UN. To support MDGs peace, we are member of the Vienna NGO Committee on Peace at UN. The president of our organization Mr Gebhard FIDLER is auditor in the Vienna NGO Committee on Peace at UN.
