ACUNS is pleased to provide assistance to eligible attendees of our Annual Meeting.

Applicants may apply for multiple travel grants, but only one will be awarded per individual.

These grants will be provided as reimbursements to the winners, at the Annual Meeting. Applicants do not have to be members of ACUNS when applying, but must be a member to pick up their grant check.

Categories
Graduate Student Travel Grant – $500 US (1 award available)
The Annual Meeting Graduate Student Grant is directed towards a Ph.D., J.S.D. or LL.M. level student who has been accepted to give a paper at the 2017 Annual Meeting. The winner will also receive a registration fee waiver. In order to receive your funds at the Annual Meeting you must be a current ACUNS Member.
Deadline: March 10, 2017

Open Category Travel Grant – $750 US (1 award available)
The Annual Meeting Open Category Travel Grant is available to anyone giving a paper at the 2017 Annual Meeting. The winner will also receive a registration fee waiver. In order to receive your funds at the Annual Meeting you must be a current ACUNS Member.

Friends of ACUNS Global South Travel Grant – $500 US (3 awards available)
The Friends of ACUNS Global South Travel Grant is available to any scholar from the Global South. The applicant must be a citizen of and based at a higher education institution in the Global South. The winner will also receive a registration fee waiver. In order to receive your award at the Annual Meeting you must be a current ACUNS Member.

Travel Grant Guidelines
Applicants for the Graduate Student Travel Grant and Open Category Travel Grant must provide:

  1. A provisional budget estimate for attending the Annual Meeting
  2. A brief (300 words max.) statement explaining how their participation in the Annual Meeting will advance their studies, research, or professional development

Winners of the travel grants will be notified directly by e-mail by Monday, April 10, 2017.

  1. In order to receive your travel grant reimbursement check we need to receive the following from you:
    – A valid form of ID
    – Travel Receipts: We prefer that you send them via email to [email protected] prior to the Annual Meeting. Or, you can bring photocopies of your travel receipts to the Annual Meeting for ACUNS staff. The receipts must equal or exceed the amount of your travel grant.
  2. Receipts may include airlines, hotel/accommodation and taxi/shuttle/train
  3. You must pick up your check/reimbursement for the Travel Grants at the Annual Meeting
  4. No advance award/grant payments can be made
